06/13/2009 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1 Trey is a young two-way player on the mound and at SS with a small, solid frame. Currently, he projects best at SS for the next level. Foot speed is near above average as indicated by his 7.16 60 time and he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. He utilizes his feet well in coming to get and playing through the baseball with his feet and hands, displaying solid average defensive abilities. Arm strength is solid average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength, raising velocities. He throws on the run well. At the plate, hitting abilities and power are solid average. Hands work well through the zone and he makes consistent contact. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows arm side run, sitting at 76-80 mph. Changeup is his best off speed pitch, showing a solid feel for with late action. Breaking ball shows a flat shape with loose spin and needs further development to be a quality pitch at the next level. With 2 years to further develop, Stover has potential and will be a solid player as he continues to improve.
