01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Trey is a big, tall (6'3, 175) prospect who continues to improve and show he can compete at the next level. He is a workhorse on the mound, attacking hitters with his best stuff and working to get ahead in the count. He features a three-pitch mix including a tailing FB up to 91mph, a tight 10-4 CB and a CH with good arm side action. He pitches with intent on the mound as he looks to blow hitters away and does a good job of inducing weak contact. Trey shows all the makings of a pitcher who can set down a lineup at the next level.

11/04/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Trey is an exciting RHP prospect with an excellent frame - 6'3", 175 pounds, and a solid 3-pitch mix. Trey is aggressive with his fastball that was up to 89 mph during his outing at the BF UA Futures Texas event. He employs somewhat of a throwback "reach back and fire" delivery with good finish to his stuff. His fastball has late life with good tail and he feels comfortable throwing that pitch to the outer half against right-handed hitters. Trey's best secondary offering is a mid-70s change that he throws for strikes with fastball arm speed. His third offering is a curve that has some downer action but is inconsistent presently. Developing this into a swing-and-miss pitch will make it extremely difficult for opposing hitters. Overall, this is a projectable arm with good stuff and a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
