05/15/2022 - All-In Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Tristian continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.02 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate with carry (87 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Tristan will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Tristan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 3 for 8. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw top velocity at 68 mph. Fastball showed a range of 66-68 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/11/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Tristan is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Tristan shows active footwork and gets into a low position. He fields with soft hands and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws consistent to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact to all fields. On the mound, Tristan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline to his target and finishes with a controlled landing. Tristan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 61mph. Breaking ball sits from 52-53mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 58-59mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

1. Consistent level swing path
2. Maintain center balance
3. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
