06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Tristan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. He improved his foot speed and now is a well above average runner as indicated by his 60 time of 7.10. Defensively at 3B, he shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB and through it as he gains ground toward 1B. Exchange is clean with strong throws. Backhand is smooth with a quick release. Offensively, this RHH shows a quiet setup with simple actions. Hands are quick as he fires the barrel directly through the zone on a level path. He squares the ball up consistently and hits line-drives. Tristan also has the ability to get on the mound and command the zone. He has a 2-pitch mix with his FB topping out at 91 mph. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action. He has a big upside on the bump and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

09/17/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Tristan is a 2-way player who pitches and plays 3B. On the mound he has outstanding stuff with control of a 3-pitch mix. His delivery is methodical and balanced with the ball exploding out of his hand. His tempo combined with his front side hiding the ball a bit combines to make his delivery deceptive. His fastball has natural cut to it and he uses it aggressively to attack hitters and get ahead in the count. He complements the fastball with a tight curve that has 11-5 shape and good depth along with a solid change. His change is thrown with good arm speed and he throws it for consistent strikes at the bottom of the zone. Tristan also plays 3B and shows present strength in his RH swing. He flashes some pull power and hits the ball hard using quick, strong hands and a coordinated swing. While Tristan shows well as a position player, his highest ceiling appears to be on the mound where he is a high level arm to follow closely.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
