10/17/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Shea is a switch-hitting catcher with advanced catch & throw skills. His feet, exchange and arm stroke are compact and quick, and he featured arm strength to drive throws through the bag on a strong trajectory. He posted release times between 1.87 and 2.00, and sat low and strong to receive live pitching in games. At the plate, he hit from a slightly open and wide stance both left- and right-handed. He appeared to have a little more bat speed and ability to impact the ball from the left side, while he appeared to have better balance and body control right-handed. From both sides, his move to contact was short and from the inside, and his path was a little uphill. He flashed excellent bat speed and ability to square up the ball with a wood bat both ways, and appears to be a capable switch-hitter. Overall, a talented player capable of creating speed in a number of ways both offensively and defensively.
