06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Tristian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all field with gap-to-gap. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.20 range and will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills have improved and show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Mental makeup is a plus as he is extremely coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/16/2017 - College PREP - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Tristan is a lean, compact 2018 catching prospect. He is an advanced defensive catcher with blocking and receiving abilities to be an asset to his pitchers and control the game. He works in line to the pitcher, tracks the ball well and gains ground and receives with soft hands to present pitches in the zone. He is quick to block and gets rid of the ball quickly to second to post low pop times (2.12 seconds). At the dish, he shows a balanced setup and swing with a line drive approach and is able to use all fields. His swing is smooth and level to the ball as he keeps his hands inside to make consistent, square contact and show some feel for the barrel. Incorporating his lower half will lead to more bat speed and power moving forward. Tristan is an interesting prospect we look forward to watching as his progression continues.

08/17/2012 - Interactive Video Program - South Williamsport, PA Tristan is an athletic 2-way player as an OF/C. Defensively in the OF, he works to get behind fly balls with his active footwork. He covers some ground and can get to balls hit in the gap. Behind the plate, he gains ground and makes accurate throws down to 2nd. He deadens the ball when blocking and keeps it in front. Offensively, Tristan shows an athletic setup and short stride. He works the middle of the field and has a line-drive approach. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Quicken exchange
2. Stick ball when receiving
Outfield
1. Arm strength
2. Don't stab at ground balls
Offense
1. Increase bat speed
2. Remain balanced

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
