  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

Baseball Factory Denver All-Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Tristan is an OF/LHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with room to add strength. In the OF, plays with good effort and showed some baseball IQ. Tries to work behind and through the ball. Square fielding position and fields ground ball off of his right foot with a clean gather. 2-hand transfer into a 3/4 release point with throws into the infield at 69mph. A left-handed hitter, hits from an athletic and square stance. Small hand load, with good separation, and rotates hips as he gets his hips thru the swing. Made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 76mph. Had 2 singles and a HBP in live game action. With 3 years of continued development, we foresee him having opportunities to play at the next level.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Tristan is a 2024 LHP/OF. Medium/slender frame and athletic build with plenty of room to fill out and add strength. Primary LHP who starts from the windup with a small side step to a leg lift that reaches the belt. Has clean direction down the mound and has clean arm action in the back with developing arm speed from a high 3/4 arm slot. Tries to generate some down angle to the fastball. Good poise on the mound who competes. Flashed a changeup to keep hitters off balance. Secondary OF that has developing footwork and is sponge for knowledge. Makes plays because he hustles. Left-handed hitter that starts from a tall and square stance. Level barrel plane through the zone with a line drive swing. Has an all field approach with developing barrel control through the zone. With four more years to develop, there is an opportunity to play at the next level.

12/13/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Indianapolis, IN Tristan continues to shine on the diamond. He only showed on the mound at the event. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63 mph. Fastball shows slight sinking action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink but throws too hard, resembling fastball. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Tristan is a coachable OF/LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training & Competition in Arizona. In the field, Tristan shows smooth footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws through his target. Long tossing can help Tristan build up his arm strength. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He rotates his core through well and produces solid line drives. Tristan can barrel up more baseballs by getting his stride foot down sooner. On the mound, Tristan separates his hands on time and works with a loose arm. He drives his lower half and stays inline toward the plate. Tristan shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 47-49mph with 2-8 break. Extending through his release can help Tristan improve his pitch command and velocity. With four more years to develop, Tristan has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Tristan continues to show to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 55 mph. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

03/03/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Indianapolis, IN Tristan is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Tristan works at a good pace, keeps his eyes on target, and repeats his delivery well. He keeps a consistent arm slot, is around the zone with his pitches, and his FB touches 51 MPH. In the OF, Tristan reads the ball well off the bat, shows good hustle, and throws with a long arm action to his cut off man. Offensively, Tristan has a closed stance, swings aggressively, and swings on plane. He makes contact and uses his lower body. Tristan will need to work on the following in order for skills to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
