05/16/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Houston, TX Tristan is a SS who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and frame to add more strength. Ran a 6.47 60-yard dash. His footspeed and athleticism was on display during his workout. Broad jumped 9'2" and his 5-10-5 shuttle was timed at 4.25 seconds. At SS, quick feet, combined with his athleticism, allow him to create good fielding angles in all directions. Ability to pick out hops, while keeping eyes behind his glove, and fields the ball out front in low/athletic fielding position. Shows ability to throw from multiple arm slots with accurate/on-line throws across the diamond and an arm velocity of 86mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds. A left-handed hitter begins with an athletic and closed stance. Smooth swing, with quickness to hands and late barrel whip, as he stays direct to the ball. Good plate coverage and hits ball where it is pitched. Hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity of 85mph during his round of BP. As he continues to mature and develop, we see Tristan having opportunities to play at the next level.

04/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Katy (Houston), TX Tristan is an athletic, 2-way player with good skills. At SS, Tristan has quick/fluid footwork, he moves with good agility, and fields in a low/square position. He has soft hands, a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy and carry across the diamond. On the mound, Tristan has a clean arm action, he gets good extension on his pitches, and rotates through toward his target. At the plate, Tristan has an athletic set-up, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He has good hand eye coordination, fast bat speed, and he works the ball gap to gap. Tristan can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
