01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) As an OF in the 2024 class, Tristen is a strong built athlete with many likeable traits as a baseball player. He plays the outfield with an aggressive approach and relentless effort. His ability to have a good first step and take good routes to the ball will follow him to the next level. With 3 years to develop, he has potential to hit for plus power. Qualities like his solid base and his hand load will help continue to improve his direct bat speed. As he gets stronger, his arm strength will become a weapon. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this Frisco, TX prospect.

12/04/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Tristen is a C/OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame with strength present and room to add throughout. At C, he has an easy sit, with active/efficient footwork, and presents a low target. Gains ground to second base with good direction and a high/quick exchange. Made accurate/on-line throws to second base, from a high 3/4 release point, and arm velocity up to 80mph and a best pop time of 2.05 seconds. Showed good spine angle on his blocks keeping balls in front of him. In the OF, he picks out hops and showed ability to play fast to baseballs. Creates good fielding angles, with active/efficient feet, and fields from a low fielding position. Makes on-line throws through cutoff man with good momentum towards target. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and square stance. Has a solid base, with smooth timing, and is balanced at contact. Showed a fast barrel through the hitting zone with short/direct hand path. Ability to get on-plane early enables him to hit balls consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, this 2-way prospect should have a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
