11/02/2013 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 12-14) Tristen is a long bodied kid that shows potential with the bat. He hits the pull side well, and can pull it with power. He needs to focus on using his body on outside pitches the way he does on the inside pitch. Also he needs to work on his contact points, if he lets the baseball travel on the outer half he will be able to drive the baseball hard to all fields. And, to get the barrel moving he needs to focus on driving the barrel with the top hand through the baseball and not to the baseball.

10/13/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Gambrills, MD Tristen is a 1st baseman who can also pitch. Defensively, Tristen has playable hands and feet, and he moves with some agility to the ball. He tries to keep it in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a long arm action to his target. On the mound, Tristen keeps his eyes on target, he gets some extension on his pitches, and he throws his FB in the zone. Offensively, Tristen puts the bat on the ball, he keeps his head still, and he can hit hard to the pull side. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
