12/15/2018 - Texas Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend Triston is a coachable RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Texas Skills Weekend. On the mound, Triston shows a simple starter step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and works with a quick arm. Triston shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 52-54mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 49-52mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Triston can improve as a pitcher by driving his lower half more. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with good extension through the ball, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Continuing to add strength can help Triston improve as a hitter. With six more years to develop, Triston has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
