USA Baseball 17U Championships Triston continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, he is a leader, communicates well and can handle a pitching staff. Pop times showed in the 2.07 range as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills are outstanding as he shows off his athletic abilities. At the plate, he continues to shine. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (82 mph exit velocity) through the zone as he drives balls deep to all parts of the field. At the event, he was 7 for 15 with a 3B and 6 RBI. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player. A talented prospect, he will make things happen both behind the dish as well as with the bat and get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

05/12/2019 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Triston is a tall C prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Triston shows quick footwork and is agile moving to block. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with a firm glove. He makes a quick exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and great power. Overall, Triston is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his junior season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
