12/27/2011 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament - Session 2 Troy is a tall, athletic 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2012. He showed a lot of improvements since his original workout with us, and this was the first time we saw him as a pitcher. His delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his loose, quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength is outstanding as indicated by his top velocity of 87 mph. His fastball shows a range of 82-87 mph with late life. His breaking ball shows potential as being a quality pitch displaying downward tilt with tight spin. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Paris also improved his tool grades at 3B and with the bat. At 3B, his feet are quick and athletic as he attacks ground balls and plays through the ball well, displaying clean hands. At the plate, Paris continues to shine through a solid setup. His hands are quick, generating bat speed to and through the ball. His swing path is level and he shows plus barrel accuracy with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. At the event, he was 4 for 7 with a 2B. Troy has a lot of upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.
