08/11/2020 - Back to Baseball Program Only - Trenton, NJ Troy continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.38 runner. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays fluid, smooth actions. He attacks balls with his feet and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are quick and he makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/29/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Troy increased arm velocity, exit velocity, and showed an overall spike in skills around the diamond during his last workout. At SS, Troy has active feet, soft hands, and he fields in a low position. He covers ground, makes plays, and has a clean exchange with an accurate arm to his target. 07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Troy is a coachable SS/RHP. In the field, Troy showed a relaxed ready position with smooth footwork. He works hard to field the ball on time. Making throws around the diamond Troy shows a loose arm action with accurate throws. At the plate, Troy has an open stance with comfortable hands getting an activated load. His rhythm is fluid as he gets his foot down on time. He works hard to get the barrel on plane and shows the ability to spray the ball to all fields. On the bump, Troy showed great control with his FB. He sets up square separating his hands on time with a clean arm action. His stride stays in line to the plate. Using the tire drill for hitting and the wall drill for pitching will help Troy improve his game. Overall, Troy still has several years to grow and develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
