04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Manalapan, NJ Troy is a 2024 SS prospect with an athletic frame at 5'11" 180 pounds. In the field, he shows off active feet and range to the backhand. He gets in a squared fielding position and does well to present his hands out in front when fielding. He works smoothly right to left on ground balls. His exchange is clean and he has an efficient short arm action on throws. He does well on the move in the infield, and he does a great job of creating momentum and following his throws. At the plate, he starts in a quiet, squared stance and has a nice, short stride. He shows off a lot of intent in the box and shows off a fluid rhythm. His lower half does a good job of working through the baseball and he shows off fast bat speed with a short, direct swing path. He really gets solid extension when finishing and makes hard consistent contact which resulted in a max exit velo of 84 MPH. Troy is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on and we look forward to watching him develop further!

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Troy showed well at the HS All Region Event. Defensively, he continued to show fluid, smooth actions with an accurate arm across the diamond. He has good glove presentation and fields ball out front of body. Offensively, Troy had a good set up where he worked to a firm front side. He had a flat bat path where he drove the ball to the middle/opposite field consistently. On the hill, Troy displayed a high 3/4 arm slot and worked out of the stretch. He exhibited a clean/short arm action with a FB topping at 77. Troy has continuously improved from event to event and is developing into a strong prospect.

08/11/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Trenton, NJ Troy continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.38 runner. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays fluid, smooth actions. He attacks balls with his feet and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are quick and he makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
