01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Troy is a can't miss prospect with a can't miss arm with a prototypical right fielder's profile. He works aggressively to the ball with active feet and athleticism to show extensive range. He first step quickness and routes to fly balls are very advanced for his age and then his arm wows with the ability to gun down runners with ease. He repeats his compact swing well at the plate and shows the ability to barrel up the ball. He works on a level path with a strong lower half to make square contact and spray the ball to all fields effectively. Troy is an impact prospect with a bright future in the game.

02/15/2016 - College PREP - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Troy Schreffler is a 6'/170 lbs freshman OF/RHP that showed an exceptional skill-set at his first outing with Baseball Factory. In the OF, he worked with quick feet to get his body into position to make plays, cutting the ball off by utilizing good angles. He was soft & sure with his glove and played through the ball with momentum to throw to his targets. His arm showed present carry and he was accurate. Offensively, he generated excellent bat speed to hit with hand & hip coordination and had plus rhythm through his swing. He hit an impressive 89 mph with his exit velocity and as he continues to gain control of his body, will find added consistency in hard contact. On the mound, he threw a FB from 79-83, spun a 12/6 CB from 61-64, a SPL with tumble from 66-68, and showed a late run CH from 69-72. He was mechanically sound, repeated his delivery and finished with his chest over his front knee. Adding arm strength through a throwing program will create more effectiveness with all 4 of his pitches. In all - Troy is a very intriguing prospect that we look forward to tracking in the coming years.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
