12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Troy is a lean, athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.37. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 4 years to further develop, Troy has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
