Official Scouting Report

01/27/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Dayton, OH Tsukasa displayed a loose/clean arm circle, solid off-speed, and good command during his last workout with The Factory. He is an athletic RHP with good balance over the rubber, and he gets good extension on his pitches. Tsukasa has good direction toward home, lands with a proper length stride, and he finishes completely. Going from the windup and not falling off can continue to help mound effectiveness improve. Offensively, Tsukasa stands in athletically, he has good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He flashes some bat speed and works the ball gap to gap.

10/17/2018 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Tsukasa continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he is a prospect on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable through compact motions. He is polished allowing his quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 85 mph. Fastball shows a range of 82-85 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with arm side run. Slider is harder with tight spin and short / sharp break. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working to get ahead of hitters. He has deception, maintains composure, and is a bull dog on the bump. Tsukasa has a big upside on the bump and will gets looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

08/05/2018 - College PREP - Dublin (Columbus), OH Tsukasa is a young, strong, RHP with good stuff on the mound. He has a clean arm action, good balance, and he keeps his eyes on target. Tsukasa has good glove side lead, a complete finish, and excellent control of his pitches. Staying tall and continuing to add arm strength will help mound effectiveness rise. Offensively, Tsukasa swings aggressively, he stands in well balanced, and loads properly. He has a direct barrel to the ball and can work it gap to gap. An earlier load and more lower body will help hitting grades get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
