05/25/2013 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Tua is a young 2-way player as a RHP/3B. This solidly built (6'0"/185lbs) R/R projects best at 3B. Defensively, he maintains active pre-pitch movements and gets into an athletic fielding position. He has good range to his glove side and a quick/clean exchange, getting the ball across the diamond. Continuing to increase his arm strength will only help to benefit his play on the left side of the INF. At the plate, Tua shows a tall stance and good weight transfer. He is selective and makes sure to only swing at strikes, making him a tough out. He hits the ball where it's pitched and can go the other way. Developing smoother rhythm will help to improve consistency at the plate. On the bump, this RHP delivers from a long/loose arm action and 3/4 arm slot. FB ranges from 68-70 mph and CB shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. He has more in the tank and needs to use his lower 1/2 to drive off of the mound to help increase velo. Ward has a bright future in the game and will only continue to improve.
