06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Tucker is a 5'9/160 catcher in the 2024 class. Scouts liked his quick exchanges behind the plate and his bat speed in the box. As a catcher, he has an athletic set up and stays under the baseball. He tracks the baseball well and has quiet eyes. He gets his front foot down quickly and can get the ball in the air with short arm action. His feeds are accurate and strong (2.22 pop). His blocks are on-time and he stays centered to the baseball. Tucker uses a crouched stance to generate line drive pop to both gaps. Was 2-3 with 2 BB's on the weekend by using a short swing and fast hands. He stays in his legs well to maintain balance and create a strong pitch recognition. Scouts feel that he will benefit by spending time in the weight room and caching pens to increase his receiving abilities. Overall, Tucker is a solid prospect who will receive looks for the next level and he continues his career.

04/24/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Myrtle Beach, SC Tucker continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.13 with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn.

02/07/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Myrtle Beach, SC Tucker continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He work to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop times showed in the 2.46 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Tucker continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.15 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and has great knowledge of the game.

01/26/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Myrtle Beach, SC Tucker showed well behind the plate and in the OF during his last workout with The Factory. Behind the plate, Tucker has active feet, a firm/presentable glove, and he covers ground well. He takes good angles to block, he recovers well, and throws with momentum and a short arm action to 2nd base. Pop times lowered to 2.71 seconds at the workout. In the OF, Tucker tracks well, footwork is fluid, and he makes plays consistently. He gets rid of it quickly and throws with life and accuracy to his cut off man. Offensively, Tucker is a strong hitter with a square stance, and fast bat speed. He has quick hands, good balance, and he makes consistent contact gap to gap.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Tucker is an athletic 2024 OF prospect that is a grinder. In the OF, Tucker is on time with his prep step, he reads the ball off the bat well, and works behind the ball. He puts himself in a good throwing position but needs to continue to build arm strength with a long toss program. He also needs to improve his first step to the ball. At the plate, Tucker starts in an open stance, he keeps the barrel on plane to the ball, and he looks to drive the ball to all fields. Tucker needs to continue to get to balance with his lower half, hunt the fastball early, and be more aggressive with his backside when attacking the ball. Tucker was eager to learn and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
