07/27/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (HS) Turner is a coachable 2022 SS/RHP prospect out of Temple, GA who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. At SS, he starts in a relaxed posture, with active/efficient feet, and is aggressive to the baseball. He fields from a low/square position, with soft hands and fields out front. Clean 2-hand transfer and throws multiple arm slots and throws were accurate. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance with comfortable hands. Turner was the best hitter for the Dodger team during his week at Pirate City. Controlled load and a fast bat as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph during BP. During the games, he proved to be a tough out and had a double, a single, and reached on base via the walk. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch and repeats his delivery. He is a strike thrower who works at the bottom of the zone. He stays inline toward the plate and extends through his release, finishing with his back leg through. Works off of a FB that sat 70-76mph with good movement in zone, a 10/4 breaking ball with tight spin, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed and keeps down. In 5 innings of work, he punched out 7 batters and threw 72% of his pitches for strikes. Overall, Turner is a solid 2-way prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
