07/14/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Turner is a coachable 1B/LHP prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the D.C. All Star Experience. In the field, Turner shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Turner can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and maintains center balance. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to solid line drives. Turner can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Turner gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and has a controlled landing. Turner has a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 61mph. Changeup sits at 55-56mph as he throws with fastball arm speed. Turner can improve as a pitcher by loosening his arm action. With five more years to develop, Turner has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

02/25/2018 - Interactive Video Program - West, TX Turner is a young, lefty, 2-way player who plays OF and LHP. Defensively, Turner has good pre-pitch actions, he moves well to the ball, and attacks aggressively. He fields in a square position, has a clean exchange, and throws with a long arm action with momentum toward his target. On the mound, Turner has a balanced delivery, a loose arm circle, and a controlled landing with a good finish toward his target. Offensively, Tuner has a closed set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He keeps a still head, has a good bat angle, and can work the ball gap to gap. Turner can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
