01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Turner continued to show as a prospect at the UAAAPS Tournament. In the field, Turner shows active footwork and flashes good range to his backhand side. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has has a clean exchange and works to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and gets into his load well. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to solid contact to all fields. Turner is a skilled prospect who has upside on the diamond.

07/26/2017 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Turner is a talented SS/RHP prospect who has a lean, athletic build and graduates in 2018. In the field, Turner plays with effective footwork and covers good ground taking the correct angles to stay behind the baseball. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square position. Turner has a clean exchange leading into a restricted arm action throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. As a right-handed hitter, Turner has an open stance with smooth rhythm. He takes a short, square stride as he partially uses his lower half throughout his swing. Turner gets good extension at contact showing hard contact with the ball jumping off his barrel. He is a contact type hitter who shows solid instincts at the plate and on the bases. On the mound, Turner has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. He maintains eye contact with his target and stays inline to home plate. Turner finishes effectively ready to field his position. He has a full repertoire of pitches with his changeup showing the greatest potential. Overall, Turner plays the game athletically with the right approach giving him good potential to take his game to the next level.

02/19/2017 - College PREP - Tyler, TX Turner is an athletic-built shortstop prospect who has talent offensively and defensively. His footspeed immediately stands out, as he posted a 6.75 60 yard dash. As a right-handed hitter, Turner has a square, athletic setup with centered balanced. He has smooth rhythm and takes a good load with a short stride. Turner displays fast bat speed with a direct swing pat; he does a nice job of getting extension at contact. He has a line drive approach and produces consistent contact. Turner has above average power and the ability to drive the ball to each gap. In the field, Turner plays with fluid footwork and agile actions giving him above average range. He fields the ball in a low, square position with soft hands. Turner has a quick exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. He has a quick release and shows online throws across the diamond. Overall, Turner is a projectable prospect who has the ability to impact the game from both sides of the ball.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
