05/28/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Ty is a prospect on the diamond and with the makings of a draft pick in 2020. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 90 mph. Fastball showed range of 87-90 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break and shows as a quality pitch that will get outs at the next level. Command/control is well above average as he attacks hitters and locates to both sides of the plate. In the MIF, he takes a quick first step (6.88 60 time) and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (96 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are at a pro level with hands/feet working well together. At the plate, hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line.

07/31/2014 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown Ty is a young 2B who also pitches. Defensively, Ty shows great actions, with soft ready hands, proper footwork, and a fluid arm action. He can continue to work on his glove as a middle infielder and he needs to improve his arm strength. At the plate he attacks the baseball, with good bat speed, and good pop for his size. He needs to keep his front side on the baseball longer and keep his weight centered throughout the whole swing.

06/08/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Atlanta, GA Ty is a skilled 2-way player as a (SS/RHP). Defensively at SS, he shows quick actions as he works into a square fielding position. He gathers well, works in-line toward his target and has a clean exchange to throw. With the bat, this RHH shows an aggressive approach with good rhythm. He gets back into a loaded position and waits for his pitch. Barrel delivery is level as he connects and drives the ball. On the mound, Ty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a balanced position over the rubber. He drives off, working downhill and gets good glove-side lead. FB tops out at 65 mph while showing run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape as he gets on the side of it. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

1. Footwork/agility
2. Play through
1. Timing
2. Shorten swing path
1. Arm strength
2. Finish with extension

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
