10/09/2019 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Ty continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he continues to best through a tall setup. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At 3B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate, with zip (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ty is an atheltic 3B prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Ty starts in an athletic ready position and shows efficient footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well, keeping his throws accurate with good carry across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a controlled stride. He is on time getting into a small load and drives his lower half through well. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed and plus barrel control, leading to good power to his pull side. Overall, Ty is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his junior season.

06/15/2018 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Ty continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has the makings of a special type player at the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.79. Defensively at 3B, he shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB but will benefit by gaining ground toward his target. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Exchange is clean with strong throws across the diamond. Backhand is smooth with a quick release. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone (89 mph exit velocity) as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel when centered with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 81 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a solid team player, is very coachable, and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Ty has the makings to be a solid player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches as he continues to progress game.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ty is a 3B who is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball gap-to-gap. At 3B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. A projectable player, Ty has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

10/04/2017 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Ty is an athletic built 3B/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. He continues to progress on the diamond. He is a hard worker who asks the right questions and is quick to make adjustments to his game. As a hitter, this righty remains balanced and waits for a pitch he likes. He doesn't swing at much out of the zone and works deep into counts (drawing 3 walks). Swing it short/quick to and through the zone as he squares the ball up and hits it where it's pitched. At 3B, Ty covers ground using effective angles and agile actions. He presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic position with soft hands. Ty has a clean exchange leading into a short, loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick release showing consistently online throws. On the mound, Ty has an on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick arm action as he extends through his release. Ty has the proper stride length and finishes effectively with his chest over his front knee. His fastball shows tail action and his curveball has potential to be a plus pitch. He is aggressive throwing strike as he works to get ahead in the count. Overall, Ty is a well-rounded 2-way prospect who competes on the field giving upside to take his skills to the next level.

06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Ty is a corner infielder who can swing it. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 81 mph). At 3B, he has plus lateral range for a big guy, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. A projectable 3B - Ty will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

05/28/2017 - College PREP - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Ty has the makings of a special type player and is a prospect on the diamond. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.21 runner. At the plate is where he improved the most, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential. Hands are quick (80 exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows an outstanding feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities are now well above average as he displays athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through the ball well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-75 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Ty has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ty is a versatile prospect whose impressive tools allow him to make an impact in all facets of the game. He's tough on the mound with a strong delivery to the plate, jumping towards the hitter. He features a tailing fastball up to 78mph and an 11-5 curve with good break to put hitters away. He is strong at the dish in a square setup with smooth rhythm and a balanced swing. His lower half works well as he shows a level path to the ball to make hard, line drive contact. His athleticism comes through at the hot corner with quick twitch actions to react to hard hit balls and make plays. He is aggressive working to the ball and shows off a strong arm across the diamond to throw out runners. Ty has lots of potential on the diamond and can contribute in a multitude of ways.

10/05/2016 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Ty continues to show marked improvements on the diamond as he recorded his fastest 60 yard dash time to date and has developed a sound approach at the plate. On the hill, he continues to display solid mechanics which allow him to get the most out of his pitches, displaying a fastball that tops out at 71mph and a curveball that has good 11-5 shape in the 60 mph range. He looks at home at the hot corner with efficient footwork and the athletic build needed for the position. His arm is live and his throws across the diamond have good carry. At the dish, his hands continue to improve, getting quicker through the zone and working well on a direct path to the ball. He makes consistent, hard contact through a line drive approach and has the ability to hit to all fields. More use of his lower half will add bat speed and increase his power to all fields as he grows and matures. Ty looks to have a very bright future ahead of him on the baseball field.

07/24/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Ty continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean as he presents on time and out front. He shows off his athletic ability on his feeds of the double play. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an uphill swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-71 mph. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Overall, Ty has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ty continues to shine on the diamond. Offensively, this RHH has an athletic setup with centered balance. He has good zone awareness and waits for his pitch (drawing 3 walks at the event). He takes an aggressive hack with a smooth stroke, barreling the ball up and hitting line-drives. At 3B, Ty works around the GB into a square fielding position. He picks the ball with soft/sure hands and gathers well working through the ball and gaining ground toward his target. He makes the backhand play smoothly and has a quick release to throw. On the mound, Ty works to a controlled balance point and drives off downhill toward the plate. He repeats his delivery well and throws strikes. FB still sits in the low 70's as he can hit his spots well. He give his defense a chance and challenges hitters to swing the bat. Garrett is a projectable athlete who continues to progress and we look forward to what his future holds.

07/24/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Ty has improved in multiple areas of his game in his most recent outing. He has a great work ethic and brings his all to the field. Defensively, Ty works from the ground-up and presents an early glove. He attacks the ball and works in-line toward his target at 1B. In the box, Ty has an athletic frame, balanced setup with a smooth, level bat path. Staying back until contact and smoothening out his stride/load will allow for a more repeatable swing. As a RHP, Ty improved his arm strength and feel for the bump. Sitting in the upper 60s with his FB and mid 50s with his off-speed, Ty keeps hitters off balance with his 3-pitch mix. He showed repeatable mechanics but will improve by controlling the location of his pitches. Overall, Ty is a very respectful player with a bright future in the game.

06/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series Ty continues to grow in his game. Offensively, this strong RHH steps into the box with a purpose. He has fluid rhythm to load and gets his hands back with good bat leverage. Swing is direct/compact to and through the zone as he connects and finishes with extension, driving the ball to all parts of the park. He battles at the plate and proved to be a tough out. At the hot corner, Garrett works on the balls of his feet and is aggressive to come and get the GB. A clean exchange and strong arm fire accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, Ty throws all pitches with slight deception, keeping hitters off balance. He works to stay on top and drives downhill toward the dish. Improved effectiveness on all pitches will come with more arm extension on his follow through. Ty is a coachable player who works hard every day. This athlete has a very bright future ahead of him.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Ty is a young athletic 3B who continues to improve each time out. He flashes good hands at 3B, has good pre-pitch movements and works through the ball well to move towards his target when throwing. A quicker 1st step and follow through will help him become a more consistent infielder. At the plate, he has improved a ton showing good hip rotation, a still quiet body and head, and he uses his lower half very well to create some pop. Ty needs to let the ball travel a bit more and adopt a middle away approach to become more efficient with his type of hitting and get to a stronger load to ensure he stays balanced. Ty is a very good teammate, a fun-loving ball player who teammates quickly gravitate towards.

11/13/2014 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Ty is a young hard working 3B that is a student of the game. In the infield Ty works around the ball well, he has good body control, and fields with sure hands. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate he has an athletic setup, smooth load, and strong balance. He has a nice rhythm and good bat speed for his age. He finds the barrel consistently and shows a lot of power potential. Ty also showcased on the mound and he worked quick pounding the zone with his fastball. He also throws a developing changeup with some sink. He has a good mound presence and will continue to improve with more arm strength.

07/31/2014 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown Ty is a young 3B/C. In the field Ty has soft sure hands, and fields the baseball out front. He also shows the ability to control his body with his feet by displaying proper footwork to create his own hop. Ty needs to work on fielding the baseball low to high, this will improve his fielding when not getting the perfect hop. At the plate Ty had a very balanced swing with the ability to use his entire body to control the barrel to the baseball. To improve his pop Ty needs to focus on loading his hands more and creating separation between the hands and his front foot.

07/07/2014 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition Ty is a young, versatile player who plays the game with an outstanding attitude and who wants to get better each time out. As an infielder, Ty has a good arm, works through the ball well and know where to be and makes adjustments based on situations. he needs to improve his angles to the ball and get into a more athletic ready position to quicken his first reactive step. Offensively, Ty has a good strong base and loads his hands fairly well to get into a good rhythm to hit. To improve in the box he needs to be more confident at the plate and in his approach, and he needs to get better with his pitch recognition/tracking.

05/25/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Ty is a talented 2-way player as a 3B/C. At the plate, this RHH shows a well balanced approach with simple actions. He jumps on the first pitch he likes, swings on a level path, and utilizes his lower 1/2 well. At 3B, Ty works into a square fielding position and tracks the ball into his glove. He field cleanly, gathers well, and works in-line across the diamond. Behind the plate, he sits in well and presents a good target. He is quick around balls in the dirt and centers them off of his chest. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
