08/03/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Ty is a talented OF who was the MVP of Pirate City World Series. He has great foot speed as displayed by his 6.97 60 time. In the field, Ty is very agile when tracking down fly balls and he gets into an athletic position to field the ball. He presents his hands out front when fielding the ball and he has a quick exchange to throw. He has a short throwing action which allows his throws to be accurate and carry through his target. Ty can improve defensively by presenting his glove earlier when catching fly balls. At the plate, Ty sets up in an athletics stance and takes a short, square stride to the ball. He is smooth getting back into his load and leads well with his lower half. He has explosive bat speed as he takes a direct route to the ball, producing hard contact and power. Ty can improve as a hitter by doing a close tee drill to help keep his hands inside the ball. Overall, Ty is a talented prospect who has the tools and potential to contribute at the next level.

04/24/2016 - College PREP - Bartlett (Memphis), TN Ty is a solid, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.23. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He works inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. He has strength in his swing with the baseball exploding off bat when centered, showing plus gap to gap pop. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together with life, accuracy, and on line carry on his throws. He shows an outstanding arm in the OF. With 2 years to further develop, Ty has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
