02/06/2022 - All-In Membership - Palmetto, FL Ty is a LHP/OF prospect in the 2023 class. Displays a projectable body frame (6’3/175) with good athletic indicators. Moves excellent for size and is a plus runner. In the field, his arm proves to be ha big asset (82 velo). He releases from a high ¾ arm slot for accurate and on-line throws. He also is strong at following throws to create great direction to his targets. He moves his feet well and works to get behind the baseball. Being more fluid with his glove and pocket feel will create quicker transfers prior to using his big arm. On the mound, he shows a relaxed delivery and stays in the zone. He operates with a 3-pitch mix from a high ¾ arm slot. He ran his heavy FB up to 82 with signs of run. His 12/6 CB sat 66-7 and worked down in the zone. His CH sat 66-7 with medium break. Playing frequent catch and long toss with his CH grips, will help him develop more feel and command. At the plate, begins with a square set up and transitions into a short load. His timing is smooth and engages his lower half well. Has pull side power with fast bat speed. Working on staying inside of his feet on the transfer of energy from load to swing, will help his front side remain firm. Overall, with two years to develop, Ty has the chance to become an elite two-way player at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
