Official Scouting Report

01/17/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Antonio, TX Ty is a thin OF with progressing skills. Defensively, Ty has efficient footwork, a presentable glove, and an aggressive approach to the ball. He fields athletically in a low position, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency from a loose arm action to his cut off man. If Ty can play more through the ball, and quicken his release, defensive grades can get better. Offensively, Ty has an open/athletic stance, a short stride, and he can hit to all fields. He keeps his hands inside the ball, and makes consistent contact. Hitting numbers can get better if Ty can work on barrel accuracy, bat speed, and tap into more lower 1/2.

11/15/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Deer Park (Houston), TX Ty is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2023. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic, open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Ty has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
