Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Tyler is a strong, athletic RHP/1B who showed as a prospect at the Pre-Season All American Tournament. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 83-87 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, he displays excellent hitting abilities with well pro level power potential. Hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and presents well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Tyler has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

07/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Tyler is a talented/projectable RHP who pounds the zone with strikes. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 78-80 mph and with cutting action. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. Changeup has slight run and compliments his FB well. He commands the zone and can spot up on all 3-pitches. With the bat, this righty shows an open stance with an aggressive approach as he's looking to swing it. Quick hands (83 mph exit velocity) work through the zone as he connects and hits line-drives. Tyler is a skilled (2023 grad) RHP who will toe the rubber and compete.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
