01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Tyler continues to progress on the diamond and showed well during his time at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. With the bat, this righty displays an athletic setup with centered balance and a strong base. Quick hands whip the barrel through a level path as he squares the ball up and drives it on a line. At SS, quick feet and active prep allow him to work around the GB into a low/athletic fielding position. He gathers well, has a clean exchange and fires strong throws with zip across the diamond. On the mound, Bailey throws a FB & CB from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works in-line towards the plate and repeats his mechanics well. He pounds the zone and challenges hitters to swing the bat, not giving up many free passes. FB tops out at 80 mph while shown slight tail, as CB has 10/4 shape. Tyler is a solid all-around prospect who possesses a variety of skills that can help a team at the next level.

07/05/2017 - Under Armour Firecracker Classic 18U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 6.60. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding as he has great strength in his swing. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity). He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 5 for 7 with 2B and bunt for a hit. At 1B, he displays good footwork around the bag and is a solid receiver, displaying clean hands. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-82 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/04/2017 - College PREP - Kennesaw, GA Tyler is a tall, lean, and athletic RHP/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is excellent as indicated by his 60 time of 6.81. In the MIF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and but will benefit by presenting more out front. Athletic abilities are present through his feeds / turn of the double play. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displays range in the MIF, and has big play potential. Throws are accurate with life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with lower half working well through the swing. Barrel accuracy is a plus with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 78-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He throws a knuckleball that shows potential as being a quality pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
