07/20/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Tyler improved his hitting grades at the event and showed a bulldog mentality on the mound. At the plate, he displays strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. He shows a simple setup, solid approach, and tracks the ball well. His hands are quick and work through a level swing path and show a solid feel for the barrel. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to load and use his lower half more. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft and clean and he showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. On the mound, his fastball showed a range of 73-75 mph on a strong downhill plane. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. His breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with late breaking action. He shows a feel for his changeup with slight sinking action. Command is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches and changes speeds well. He is very coachable and willing to make adjustments to be the best player he can be. Overall, Tyler is a talented prospect with the potential to contribute at the next level.
