10/26/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend (Ages 14-18) Tyler is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this switch hitter sets up in a square stance and takes his stride on time. He hits against a strong front side, leading to solid line drives. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Tyler improve as a hitter. Overall, Tyler is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

06/23/2019 - College PREP - Hagerstown, MD Tyler is a solid catcher who showed improved skills since his last workout. Behind the plate, Tyler has a presentable glove, he tracks the ball well, and he gains ground. He gains ground when blocking his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short arm action to 2nd base. Pop times lowered to 2.65 seconds. Work on blocking and receiving will help catching get better. Offensively, Tyler is a better hitter from the left side. He has a tall set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a short/direct barrel and he uses his lower body. From the right side, Tyler has good balance, average bat speed, and he puts the bat on the ball. Hitting can improve with a better finish, timing, and swing path.

03/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Ashburn (DC), VA Tyler is a young catcher with a tall frame. Behind the plate, Tyler has playable hands and feet, he tracks the ball well, and he presents his hands properly. He covers ground, well, has a clean release, and throws with a short arm action to 2nd base. At the plate, Tyler is a slightly better hitter from the right side. He has a short stride good bat speed, and uses his lower body. From the left, Tyler swings on-plane, he creates some leverage, and decent bat speed. Tyler can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
