01/18/2013 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Tyler is a young, solid catcher that will graduate in 2016. Feet are active, working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed a range of 2.19-2.31 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills shows as playable tools as he continues to improve. At the plate, Tyler is a switch hitter with good hitting and power grades from both sides of the plate through an athletic setup and good rhythm. Hands are quick, working to and through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and wants to be the best player he can be and is a tough kid. With 3 years to further develop, Tyler has abilities with time and room to continue to improve.
