10/18/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Tyler is a lean, athletic OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.20 60 time. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down and gets behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, he shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Slider has tight spin, resembling breaking ball. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the college coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
