11/07/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Tyler is lean SS that will graduate in 2016. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.11 60 time. Defensively, he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in attacking ground balls displaying soft / clean hands. He moves well laterally, displaying range but needs to play through balls and present hands out front to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Crow shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to load more and transfer weight properly through his lower half. He displays good instincts on the bases as he utilizes his quick feet well. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is a hard worker. With 3 years to further develop, Tyler has abilities with time and room to improve.
