Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

12/19/2021 - All-In Membership - North Branford, CT Tyler is a solid/athletic player who showed nice improvements since his last workout. At SS, Tyler has active feet, a low/athletic fielding position, and he fields in a square position. He centers the ball well on his body, his exchange is clean, and he throws with carry and strength across the diamond. A quicker exchange, and playing more through the ball will only help solid defensive numbers get even better. On the mound, Tyler has good balance, on-time hand separation, and he works in good tempo. He has a loose/clean arm circle, lands with good direction toward home, and throws strikes. More front arm extension and finish will help mound effectiveness improve. At the plate, Tyler has a closed stance, a loose grip, and a level swing. He loads his hands well, gets the barrel through, and makes consistent contact. Added bat speed and a more direct barrel through the ball will help improve hitting numbers.

10/13/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Springfield, MA Tyler is a big, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Tyler has firm hands, efficient footwork, and he centers the ball well on his body. He shows good range, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum across the diamond. On the mound, Tyler has good balance and he separates his hands on time. He gets good extension, lands with good direction toward home, and is around the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Tyler has an open stance, he loads well, and is short to the ball. He makes square/consistent contact and hits line drives. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
