05/06/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Arcata, CA Tyler is an athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Tyler has quick/fluid feet, agile movements to the ball, and his hands are soft. He makes plays consistently, his exchange is quick, and he throws with accuracy and carry to his target. On the mound, Tyler works quickly, he has good balance, and he keeps his eyes on target. He has a controlled landing toward home and rotates through toward his target. Offensively, Tyler has a crouched set-up, a square stride, and he gets good extension through the ball. He has a direct barrel, makes consistent/level contact, and works it well to the opposite field. Tyler can continue to improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
