01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Tyler is a young freshman that showed improvements to his hit ability in just two short months since we last saw him. Offensively, he had good separation getting the bat in a slot ready to hit, and delivered the barrel on a good level path to contact. He used his hands and hips together to help accelerate the barrel and worked on becoming more aggressive to attack his pitch. Behind the dish, he handled the baseball well and worked with quick feet to get ready to throw. During drill work, he improved his setup, widening his base for greater control and stability. In all - Tyler is an intangible player that has strong aptitude and work ethic to continue taking his game to another level.

11/01/2015 - College PREP - Midland, TX Tyler is a young, RHH 2-way player as a C/SS. Behind the dish, he sits in well and presents a solid target, tracking pitches into his mitt. Transfer/exchange is clean as he works in-line toward 2B with pop times at 2.25. Times will continue to drop as he quickens his exchange and uses more of his legs in the throw. At SS, Tyler hustles into a square fielding position and tracks GB's into his mitt. He gathers well and makes accurate throws to 1B. He is aggressive to come and get the slow-roller and has proper footwork to make the play smoothly. Working to pick out the hops and come and get the ball while fielding it more out in front will help his skills at SS to improve. Offensively, Tyler shows a square setup with rhythm to load. He barrels the ball up, hits it where it's pitched and sprays it to all parts of the field. More lower 1/2 drive will result in increased power at the plate. A 2019 grad - Tyler has tools with still a ton of time to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
