07/28/2021 - Baseball Factory Southwest Championships 17U Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.15 runner. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 2 for 8 with a 2B and 3B. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (85 mph velocity) to his target. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Fastball shows a range of 77-78 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.
