11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Tyler is a lean SS/RHP who will graduate in 2020. At SS, feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through a low approach. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Glove action is soft but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 65-66 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 across break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 4 years to further develop, Tyler has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
