10/06/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, MD Tyler is an athletic RHP who graduate in 2023. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 77-79 mph. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has potential with time and room to progress his game.

10/13/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Columbia, MD Tyler is a strong C prospect who will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, Tyler moves to block on time and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He replaces his feet to throw and keeps his throws accurate to 2B. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and gap to gap line drives. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
