02/21/2016 - College PREP - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Tyler is a wiry RHP/3B who will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding, displaying smooth / fluid actions. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.06. Feet are quick / active as he displays proper footwork as he plays through balls, presenting sure hands well out front. He moves well laterally and shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Arm strength is outstanding with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus as he shows gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. Control is solid as he pounds the zone with a lot of strikes. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Tyler has a lot of potential with an upside on the mound and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
