05/24/2014 - Little League® Experience Tyler is a quiet and respectful young man who showed good physical tools in Williamsport. As an infielder he makes plays and has very good arm strength. He needs to improve footwork, lateral quickness, and basic fielding mechanics. On the mound Tyler has a good balance point and plus FB He can improve if he stays in-line to target and keeps front side closed. At the plate he is direct to the ball, showed good balance and power. Tyler can improve by limiting the movement in his head, letting the ball travel into the proper hitting zone, and adopt more of a middle approach.

05/25/2013 - Little League® Experience - S. Williamsport Tyler is a young player who is excited to play every time he steps on the field. Defensively, he is continuing to develop the fundamental skill set to be successful. He does a good job fielding the balls in front on him in the outfield, but needs to work on tracking the baseball and increasing foot speed. On the mound, he has a good presence and throws strikes. His balance point is controlled and he has a good fluid arm action. He can improve by making sure he strides towards home plate and finishes out over his front leg. His arm strength will increase as he continues to grow. At the plate, he has an athletic stance and good balance. He does a decent job of using his lower half, but often his stride is open and he can only pull the baseball. He can continue to improve his lower half (finishing heel over toe) and striding towards the pitcher. Overall, Tyler still has plenty of time to develop and his passion for the game should lead to improvement.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
