01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Tyler is a 2022 C who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American Tournament. Behind the dish, he showed quiet actions with good lateral range. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Tries to work his thumb under the baseball with a good elbow hinge. Made accurate and on-line throws with an arm velocity up to 87mph and a best pop time of 2.25 seconds. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and even stance. Has a controlled load, with a good hip turn, and showed ability to keep his hands inside the baseball. Has a direct barrel path as he squared up baseballs to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 87mph. In live game action, Tyler reached base 3 times with a single and reached base on error 2 times. With another year of development, we foresee Tyler having a bright future on the baseball field.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Tyler is a strong C prospect who showcased his skills during the Opening Day Classic. Behind the dish, Tyler presents a good target to the pitcher and tracks the ball into his glove. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate to the 2B bag. He is quick moving to block and centers the ball in the middle of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and is explosive driving his lower half through. He works trough a short swing and produces loud line drives. Overall, Tyler is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
