07/08/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Trenton, NJ Tyler is a skilled R/R MIF who continues to progress on the diamond. This smooth fielding MIF has + hands and works fluidly right to left through the GB. He has + lateral range and can cover some ground as he works lightly on the balls of his feet. Transfer/exchange is quick/clean with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, this RHH displays an athletic setup with centered balance and smooth rhythm. Swing is quick to and through the zone as he swings against a firm front side and engages his lower 1/2 well. He squares the ball up and hits consistent/hard line-drives. Tyler is a talented MIF prospect who has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

12/15/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Madison (NYC), NJ Tyler continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently through the swing. In the MIF, he displays smooth, clean actions. Feet are aggressive and plays through with his body. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / wide setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/26/2019 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 14-18) Tyler is a coachable SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Staying tall through contact can help Tyler improve as a hitter. Overall, Tyler is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

08/14/2019 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Tyler is a tall, lanky SS who will graduate in 2021. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
