08/21/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Tyler is a RHP/3B prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame athletic build, with long levers, and strength present. At 3B, starts with efficient footwork and has good body control at the baseball. Works from right to left and fields from a square fielding position with hands out front. Has a loose arm stroke and throws from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 89mph across the diamond. Made accurate/on-line throws with good momentum towards target. On the mound, he has a projectible frame and showed willingness to compete. He works with good direction down the mound and gets his chest over his front knee. He throws a FB that sits 78-80mph with arm side run, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball that flashes depth through strike zone, a 10/4 shaped slider with good tilt, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. SL was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate, he hits from a tall and even stance. Lower half driven swing, with on-time stride, and keeps his weight between his knees. He gets on-plane early and an explosive barrel through the hitting zone. Hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 88mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Tyler continues to as a prospect at the Under Armour Pre Season All American Tournament. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel (exit velocity = 85 mph) with power showing best to the pull side. At 3B, he works from the ground-up with smooth actions. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 80-82 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two way guy.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Tyler is a projectable 2024 player (3B/RHP) who shines in a variety of ways on the diamond. At third, he showed off his arm with a 76 mph arm velocity paired with an efficient ready position, soft hands, and accurate arm. Not only did he impress at third, but he also showed his pop off a little with a 81mph exit velocity. His tall set up, activated load, and center balance would help him make hard contact in all of his rounds. Tyler stepped on the mound and showed off his command with his fastball, he worked quickly through the lineup posting 4 Ks. His breaking ball also showed well with good depth on his CB. Overall, Tyler is a solid 2-way prospect that projects as a 3B because of his bat, but can certainly get it done on the mound, we are excited to see where this game takes him in the future.

07/30/2020 - Summer Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Tyler continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now well above average through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets if of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry across the diamond. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Tyler is a 3B/RHP prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. At 3B, Tyler fields the ball out in front with soft hands and makes a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a simple load and shows strong barrel control, leading to good pull side pop. On the mound, Tyler gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Tyler shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-61mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Tyler is a talented prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Tyler as the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

06/07/2019 - College Recruiting Day - Columbia, MD Tyler is a 3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 3B, Tyler takes a good first step and shows efficient footwork. He fields with sure hands and makes accurate throws to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Tyler improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is controlled getting into his load and takes a compact swing, leading to consistent contact. Tyler can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. With five more years to develop, Tyler has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/03/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Ellicott City, MD Tyler is a 3B prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Tyler shows active footwork and takes a good first step. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and gets into a small load. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes solid contact. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
