08/04/2019 - College PREP - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Tyler is a lean RHP who will graduate in 2023. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. He shows good tempo and works quick to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 62-64 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Tyler has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
