01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Tyler is a C prospect who showcased his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. Behind the plate, Tyler tracks the ball into his glove and makes a clean exchange. He shows proper throwing footwork and keeps his throws accurate to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with comfortable hands. He is on time getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid line drives. Overall, Tyler is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/23/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Tyler showed nice overall skills during his last workout in Detroit. Behind the plate, Tyler has active feet, he tracks the ball well, and he sits in squarely. He has a soft chest when blocking, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and accuracy to 2nd base. Pop times were lowered to 2.4 seconds at the workout. At 2nd base, Tyler plays low, he takes good routes and angles to the ball, and his hands are soft. He has a loose arm action to his target, throwing with momentum and accuracy. At the plate, Tyler has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he can hit to all fields. He has a short/direct barrel to the ball and makes hard/consistent contact.

07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Tyler is a lean, athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer/exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.88 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he works to get rid of the baseball quicker and builds more arm strength. Glove action is soft and sticks ball well through the receiving process. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the dish. At the plate, he shows a balanced/athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, good instincts and plays with a lot of energy. With 6 years to further develop, Tyler has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
