02/10/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Tyler is an athletic and hardworking prospect that made several adjustments during the hitting accelerated training weekend. At the plate, Tyler starts in a squared stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He stays balanced through contact and keeps a middle approach. He drives the backside through and shows pull side pop. Continuing to have a loose grip on the bat will allow him to create whip in the barrel and get the extension through contact. Tyler will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/17/2017 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Tyler is a solid, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Tyler stands over the rubber well, he has a loose/live arm, and the ball jumps out of his hand. He separates on time, gets good extension, and he lands in a controlled position. If Tyler can improve his glove side lead, tempo, and control, mound effectiveness will improve. In the OF, Tyler has quick feet, agile movements to the ball, and he attacks aggressively. He as a short/loose arm action with carry and accuracy to his target. Playing more under control, getting his glove down sooner, and improved accuracy will help defense get better. Offensively, Tyler has an athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He makes hard/consistent contact and has good pop in his bat. Improved timing/rhythm and a more smooth load can help hitting get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
