09/08/2019 - College PREP - Fresno, CA Tyler is an athletic and talented Catching prospect. Behind the dish, Tyler presents a low target, he works behind the ball, and controls the ball in the strike zone. When throwing, he has a clean exchange and makes good throws to the bag. When blocking, he gets into a strong position with his lower half and creates a good angle over the ball. At the plate, Tyler starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He has fluid movement back in his hands, he gets good separation in his load, and gets the backside through the ball. He has a direct bat path, keeps the barrel inside the ball, and has a gap to gap approach. Tyler will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
