06/15/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Tyler is a lanky, young 2B/RHP that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best at 2B for the next level. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.38 60 time. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in attacking ground balls and playing through well, displaying soft / clean hands. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, McGlashen shows a balanced approach and loads well. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with slight break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup showing a feel for with arm side run. Stock on the mound will rise as more arm strength is gained and he works to throw more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he plays hard and is very coachable. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
